4வது வருடமாக தமிழ் இளையோர் அமைப்பு வழங்கும் “கற்க கசடற”

“கற்க கசடற கற்பவை கற்றபின். நிற்க அதற்குத் தக” என்ற திருவள்ளுவரின் குறளை பின்பற்றி பிரித்தானிய தமிழ் இளையோர் அமைப்பினராகிய நாம் புலம் பெயர்ந்து வாழ்ந்தாலும் எம் மதம் மொழி அதன் பெருமைகளை விட்டுக் கொடுக்காது எமது எதிர்கால சந்ததியினருக்கும் எங்கள் தமிழ் மொழியின் அருமை பெருமையை எடுத்துரைத்து எம் தேசிய தலைவரின் கனவை நினைவாக்கும் வண்ணம் தொடர்ந்தும் எமது மொழியை பின்பற்ற அவர்களை ஊக்குவிற்பதே எங்களுடைய இந்ந கற்க கசடற என்னும் போட்டியின் நோக்கமாகும்.

கற்க கசடற என்னும் இன் நிகழ்வு வட கிழக்கு லண்டனில் நடை பெற்ற முதல் அரைச்சுற்றில் தொடங்கி, தொடர்ந்து தென் மேற்கு, வட மேற்கு, வட கிழக்கு, தென் கிழக்கு ஆகிய நான்கு இடங்களிலும் அரைச்சுற்று இடம் பெற்றது.

இச்சுற்றுகள் முடிவடைந்த நிலையில் தெரிவான மாணவர்கள் இறுதிசுற்றான இன்று(27/10/2013) பங்கேற்று அவர்களுடைய திறமைகளை வெளிக்கொண்டு வந்து சிறப்பினை பெற்றார்கள்.

கற்றனைத் தூறும் அறிவு”

அதாவது தோண்டத் தோண்ட ஊற்றுநீர் கிடைப்பது போலத் தொடர்ந்து படிக்கப் படிக்க அறிவு பெருகிக் கொண்டே இருக்கும்.

அதேபோல எமது அரும்பெரும் காப்பியங்களையும் தமிழ் சார்ந்த நூல்களையும் பயிலும் பொது தமிழ் மொழியின் வளர்ச்சியும் மாணவர்களின் வளர்ச்சியும் மென்மேலும் வளர்ந்து கொண்டே செல்லும்.

இரண்டு வயது முதல் பெரியவர்கள் வரை இந்த போட்டியில் பங்குபெறுவது இளையோர்களுக்கு பெரும் உற்சாகத்தையும் உந்துசக்தியையும் கொடுக்கின்றது. முக்கியமாக பெற்றோர்களின் ஆர்வத்தையும் அவர்களின் விடாமுயற்சியையும் பார்க்கும் பொது அளவுகடந்த நம்பிக்கையினை கொடுக்கின்றது. நான்காவது வருடமாக இடம்பெறும் இவ் போட்டி நிகழ்வு எத்தனையோ குறை நிறைகளையும் கண்டு அதனை நிவர்த்தி செய்தும் மென்மேலும் சிறப்பாக நடைபெற்றுக் கொண்டு வருகிறது.

மொழியை இழந்தவன் அவனது சொந்த அடையாளத்தை இழந்ததற்கு சமனாவான். மொழிதான் ஒரு இனத்தின் அடையாளம்.. மொழி தான் ஒரு இனத்தை ஒன்றுசேர்க்கும்…எப்பொழுது அதனை இழந்துவிடுகின்றோமோ அப்போதே அந்த இனம் சிறுகச் சிறுக அழிகின்றது என்று அர்த்தம். எமது அன்புக்கும் பாசத்துக்குமுரிய தமிழ் மக்களே நாம் அந்நிய நாட்டில் அகதிகளாய் இருகின்றோம் எமது தாய்நாடு இனப்படுகொலையை மேற்கொள்ளும் சிங்கள பௌத்த பேராதிக்கத்தின் கையில் சிக்கி எமது அடையாளங்களை இழந்து செல்கின்றது. நாம் எம்மொழியையும் தாய்நாட்டின் அருமைபெருமைகளையும் வளர்ந்து வரும் எம் இளம்சமுதாயத்திடம் எடுத்துச் சொல்லவேண்டும். இத் தருணத்தில் எம் மாவீரர்களின் கனவினை நினைவாக்க எம்மாலான எல்லா முயற்சிகளையும் எடுத்துச் செல்லுவோம் அதேபோல உங்கள் பிள்ளைகளுடன் தமிழில் உரையாடுங்கள், தமிழினை மென்மேலும் வளர வழிகோலுங்கள்.

TYO endeavours to preserve, promote and nurture our cultural heritage by initiating and sustaining our involvement within the Tamil community. Part of this proposal includes implementing educational programming to promote awareness and pass on our identity as Tamils onto the next generation in an appropriate manner, hence TYO’s introduction to Katka Kasadara.

Thirukkural expounds on various aspects of life and is one of the most important works in the Tamil language; it is a master piece of Tamil literature with the highest and purest expressions of human thought. TYO UK’s Katka Kasadara competition is an attempt to educate the younger generation of the various Thirukkural, Tholkappiyam and Kondaraivendhan.

Katka Kasadara has been successfully held by TYO UK for the past four years, kick starting its fourth annual competition on Sunday 13^th October 2013 at North East London, followed by the North West London, South West London regional rounds taking place on Saturday 19^th October 2013 and South East London on Sunday 20^th October 2013.

After successful completion of the regional rounds, the final was held on Sunday 27^th October 2013 at Ilford Catholic Club in North East London, where we saw some very promising participants.

Following the final round of the competition was the prize giving ceremony which consisted of various speeches, songs and dances giving a complete cultural show by the younger generation. Parents, friends and relatives of the participants were present to cheer on their progress and congratulate the winners.

The highlight of the ceremony was an inspirational speech was given by an eight year titled “Tamizhin Valarchi” where she spoke about the importance of preserving our identity and language by communicating with our children and fellow Tamils in our mother tongue. Other shows included many dances titled “Yamarintha Molikalil’ and “Oodi Vilayadu Paapa” and a song sung by a five year old.

Katka Kasadara 4 received many positive feedbacks and we also appreciate the constructive feedback that was given which will be improved upon next year. Katka Kasadara 4 was accomplished successfully.
