Katka Kasadara was the only one of its sort to be held in London with two rounds of tough contestants. The first round was held in the four London regions boasting an outstanding turnout of over 200 participants. The top three competitors were carefully selected by our panel of top judges. The judges informed TYO of the daunting task of having to eliminate and select the top three winners from each region. It wasn’t made easy for them having such talented strong competitors.
These participants then went on to compete against each other in the final that was held on 20th November 2010. A prize giving ceremony was also held that evening with a varied audience of much anticipated parents and children to discover great talents. All contestants were awarded with certificates for their keen involvement and recognition of their hard work. The winners from each region were awarded with medals and the final winners were presented with trophies; a sheer delight for both TYO and winners! This competition, marking Universal Children’s Day, has been widely respected by many and was on whole an immense success.

TYO UK would like to congratulate all the youngsters that took part in this contest and would like to show their appreciation to the parents for encouraging their children’s involvement in nurturing Tamil culture. Having been a thriving outcome, TYO UK hopes to hold Katka Kasadara annually to commemorate Universal Children’s day. TYO has high hopes to further flourish into a strong organisation representing the ideals and interests of Tamil Youth with an accountable presence within the Tamil community.
